I would be interested in knowing more first. If it’s an isolated incidence (one teacher, one class), it may just be one case.
If you actually have an entire school ethos behind it, that’s quite different.
Learning about evolution can occur at several different times in one’s schooling — it’s compulsory, for example, in some bio/human bio Year 11/12 Science courses (http://www.thebiozone.com/reviews/rev_workbook_aus.html).
It can also be noted that evolution is generally taught around ninth or tenth grade — http://www.cap.nsw.edu.au/teachers/secondary_lesson_plans.htm
There are syllabus guides that indicate when it should be taught and to what extent: http://tinyurl.com/syllabus8-10
There have been questions this year already about ‘when and where’ it is appropriate to discuss evolution and scripture: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/12/06/2439542.htm.

Hey, I’m looking forward to listening to this. I notice the file format is .m4a. I know my mp3 player doesn’t support that file format, and I am probably not the only one. I only know of one other podcast that offers a .m4a file format (Quackcast). .MP3 is pretty much the standard. I think you might be limiting your audience by using .m4a, since less people are going to be able to use it. QuackCast runs an RSS feed for both formats so that is another option. I’m converting it to an mp3 file as I type this, so that won’t stop me from listening to this podcast, but it may stop others.

Just listened to the show.… quite good.
I’m a former evangelical.… and I used to work for the organisation that was distributing those ID dvds in Oz.

Hi sorry for the late comment. Jase was right, i was away.
Podblack, i am currently about to start year 10 but the view that “Evolution should not be looked at” has been one at many teachers– not all, not one-but many have shared.
One teacher who told me that ‘Evolution isn’t proven so why believe it?’ was actually mormon, go figure.
YoungSkepAdmin, my school is technically a Uniting Church Private School, but like i said, we don’t study RE and we don’t have to go to chapel. All that happens is we get a prayer and a benediction from our Reverend.
