Fear not, my loyal fans, I promise I shall be on the third episode. The world needn’t wait for my sexy, underage podcasting voice any longer.

Downloaoding the show now, after hearing about it from the skeptic zone. Have been meaning to ask what defines one as young in regards to the young skeptics. Have you guys got an age range you are aiming for?

Great first effort guys. The audio was a bit funny but all in all entertaining, especially the street interviews.

Just listened to the podcast …

… umm from whence cometh the news about schools being required to teach the same stuff/standards? It was an idea, but I think it was thrown out in the end.

The most recently I heard Intelligent Design (creationism) in the news was with regards to the proposed National Curriculum and worries by religious schools that the government wouldn’t give them their cash handouts if they didn’t teach that curriculum –prefering one involving Intelligent Design. We discussed it a little here:
    http://www.youngausskeptics.com/bbpress/topic.php?id=13

So as not to trigger the knee-jerk reaction against the phrase “Intelligent Design” most subsequent articles on the topic have avoided that phrase and just used terms like “controversial topics” — and fairly successfully that doesn’t raise our ire.

I believe the matter ended here:

Labor senator Kim Carr said the national curriculum would allow schools room for “innovation and creativity” and not “mandate particular classroom practices”.

Mr Pyne [said] schools could rely on Senator Carr’s speech in any future court challenge if the curriculum threatened their teaching methods.
