yeah, the audio level was bad. i’ve run it through a compressor and uploaded it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mimdummyhzk
since the original was so varied in volume, i had to use fairly heavy handed settings, so there are a lot of artifacts (the low bitrate didn’t help). but i still found the compressed version easier to listen to. either way, great to hear youngsters actively *thinking*, seeking truth, and discussing the topics you discussed in the podcast. keep at it! God bless (joking! ;-)

My podcast queue is way too long — I only just listened to this today.
One thing I will mention is that I don’t think the celebrity slag was particularly accurate. The Chronicles of Narnia do have fairly overt Christian overtones — right through to the apocalypse. I will bring up what CS Lewis (who was something of a prominent apologetic) said about it:
“Some people seem to think that I began by asking myself how I could say something about Christianity to children; then fixed on the fairy tale as an instrument, then collected information about child psychology and decided what age group I’d write for; then drew up a list of basic Christian truths and hammered out ‘allegories’ to embody them. This is all pure moonshine. I couldn’t write in that way. It all began with images; a faun carrying an umbrella, a queen on a sledge, a magnificent lion. At first there wasn’t anything Christian about them; that element pushed itself in of its own accord.”
And Northern Lights (aka The Golden Compass) is well, let’s say, a little anti-clerical. Indeed, in the books, the Magisterium is specified as being the remains of a splintered Catholic Church. Indeed, one of the main complaints about the movie is they tuned that part down.

I’m really enjoying listening to these, *laughs* at Alastair on the topic of the bacteria “Can you just imagine waking up one morning and going, WHAT THE HELL!!”. Ahh classic
Now I must continue to listen and catch up to ep. 8
