Interesting Data from Google Analytics

While we were upgrading the Young Australian Skeptics website the other day I checked the Google analytic data and found something interesting and amusing.
While not a “OMFG GASP” piece of information, it is something to take note of.
Okay, well, I will get to it, the third most popular search term used to find the Young Australian Skeptics was “no one laughs at god “, and further down the list was “regina spektor no one laughs at god” at number 9. This on its own is nothing special. There was a post on the forums which linked to the song in question, “No One Laughs At God” and this brought in some traffic via Google.
The interesting part is that the bounce rate (which determines the percentage of people who leave the site from this page) was at 93%. Does this mean that people who found this site via this link in Google were searching for the video but when confronted with a “skeptical” site they left immediately? The video was right there! They could have watched the content they were looking for then left. It is either this OR they clicked the link to the video immediately and didn’t bother to take a look around the site (probably more likely than the former).
Anyway, just something boring and nerdy to think about from the deep dark abyss that is the Young Australian Skeptics website.
