I am currently listening to this episode just want to comment on the Lotto story a second.
I am a Mathematician (Got a BSc in it.) But I still play the lottery here in England…and it is mainly for the reason stated of the “what would I do if I won.” thoughts that happen when I buy a one. But one thing that is different with ours than yours is the price. £1/£1.50 (for euro millions.) which is basically me not getting a can of red bull that day.

Yeah, Sometimes its worth it just for the thoughts of “what if”. But I was proud of myself for not buying into it with this latest lotto. Wouldn’t it be amazing to win though!

Why not bet on the worst horse intead? I am not a mathematician so i dont know how to work it out, but surely one yearly $100 bet on a 100 to 1 horse gives you a much better chance than lottery.
