Australian readers may have noted the media blitz by the Christians for their new campaign, Jesus: All About Life.

This has provoked a few responses

  1. Those in charge of the campaign failed to purchase www.jesusallaboutlife.com, they just use the .au version. This alternate site is called Jesus: All about Lies and says:

Jesus. All About Lies is an about-time media campaign developed by people who use reason. It aims to motivate people to use reason, rather than rely solely on institutions historically built on power, for the basis of their morals. We are aiming to run outreach events for the general public which are promoted by thinking people and through the jesusallaboutlies.com website.

  2. I wrote a song called All About Life that draws on the language of addiction to describe religion.

Should I be shutting this thread down? 2 people going back and forth doesn’t make for good reading, and people tend not to read blocks of text.

What should I do here guys? Is this productive?

I’m fine with that, once someone has admitted that they can’t be sure which God is real and that evidence is disrespectful to that God they’ve stepped outside the bounds of rationality and freethinking altogether.

I thought the thread had ground to a halt.

If you’re looking for an admission of something you’ll have a long wait. I think I’ve made my points and Frozen Summers has simply refused to acknowledge them and shifted ground.

There is only one G_d, so it isn’t a matter of which G_d is real, but of what name we put to Him. There can only be one infinite, ongoing, ultimate reality. As far as I’m concerned, ALL of the evidence points to a conscious creator. Everything we experience is part of that ultimate reality.

If you insist on my giving my perspective a name, I’d have to say that at the moment I think the conception of G_d I am closest to is in line with the Chabad / Chassidic view, which encompasses Kabbalah. There have been times when I have seen my view as closer to Sikhism, but this is really just a matter of labels and the precise angle I’m looking at G_d from. He doesn’t change just because I find a certain explanation for an aspect of His Being particularly compelling on a given day and one conception does not necessarily render another incorrect. My mother was my mother as well as my father’s wife and her mother’s daughter: just different labels from different perspectives for the same person.

I think the existence of the universe itself, along with all philosophical, religious, spiritual, political and scientific thought ultimately points to the conclusion of one Ultimate and Infinite Creator G_d, if no wrong turnings are taken. For that question I think I have total and absolute evidence with no questions left unanswered and I think atheism and evolutionism are just false cults lacking evidence.
