I couldn’t find anything on how much Thiomersal is safe per kg of weight. When you dose your kid with panadol, you follow a weight/age/dose chart so as not to overdose. It doesn’t work that way for vaccines? maybe you could provide your source of info.

Thanks for educating yourself. How do you know it is safe for a 70kg man? Do you know if the H1N1 vaccine to be given to children under 10 years sometime after late October will have Thimerosal in the multi-dose bottles?

50 mcg of thiomersal… it’s important to be specific, since the potential toxicological impact of something like a mercury compound will be profoundly different depending on what that compound is.

The short answer is… yes.

I’m not sure. However, this is completely irrelevant, because, when we read the information just as you suggested above, we find the following…

“Panvax® H1N1 Vaccine is used in adults, adolescents and children 10 years of age and older.” That’s a verbatim quote from the package insert/CMI doc.

Some adult vaccines in multidose vials contain thiomersal, and influenza vaccines are a common example of such. Pediatric vaccines don’t contain it, though.

It’s really not “swine flu”, it is very much human flu, just a new substrain of the very familiar H1N1 human flu strain.

Every year flu vaccines are updated with the antigens for the most recent year’s substrain(s) of flu, and I really don’t think this year’s so-called swine flu should be any different. It’s not even any more dangerous than any other flu.

Anyhow… the AVN twats claim that the vaccines contain mercury. Can they show the datasheet for the particular vaccines which show that to honestly be the case?
