Tales from the Tubes 30/1/10
30Jan. 10
Perhaps I should come up with a different title when I do these; something other than Tales From The Tubes? Any suggestions?
Perth Skeptics participating in mass homeopathy overdose — This will be been and gone by the time this gets posted, but I look forward to hearing how it went. There are also corresponding events in the UK and across the world, in affiliation with The 10:23 Campaign. The 10:23 campaign aims to raise public awareness about homeopathy, about how there’s not one bit of real evidence that it works, about how there’s absolutely no possible mechanism by which it could ever work, and about why we should care.
If you’re a Twitter user, please vote for Dr. Rachael Dunlop in the Shorty Awards, because she’s made from science and awesome… and it makes woo peddlers really upset if you do :D
Australia bans small breasts: more classification / censorship stupidity from the Australian government. Good on the Australian Sex Party for fighting the good (sexy) fight.
If you’re in Adelaide and you’re interested in nuclear energy and the mitigation of anthropogenic climate change, you’ll be interested in this and this. Looking at the names lined up for the debate, I’m sure Barry Brook and Tom Blees will demolish their opponents, as far as any kind of debate with any kind of intellectual integrity at all is concerned. Caldicott is quite predictable… debating nuclear power with her is like trying to debate vaccination with Meryl Dorey.

I was already going to Prescription for the Planet, but I didn’t know about the following debate! Thanks for the heads up. Also, both of those events are in my city and hosted by my university. Groovy.
