It is a shame that the Herald did not report properly which pope Dawkins considers a Nazi. But, wow imagine that. A major media outlet mis-representing the position of a movement. I am sure it is the first time in recorded history it has ever happened!!! In all reality, unfortunately youngausskeptic this is something you will have to get used to if atheism is to become part of the mainstream. The Herald, and others are interested in controversy, it sells papers, the truth is quite often more boring than reality.
Maybe thought this incident will give you pause for thought that everything written about various religions in these publicactions is not true, unless of course you really have caught the first ever instance of dodgy journalism. Christians as well as atheists are interested in truth, but often mis-represented. Welcome to the club.

I have written on B.S's . blog for nearly three years and have been consistently denigrated and misquoted by him. His intolerance for views that question orthodox religion is well known. I find his bigotry and false claims of ancient history appalling, needless to say if you managed an apology from him then you did well indeed.

I just read the report of Jacqueline Maley's calumny - writing irritating rubbish, refusing to accept responsibility for it, refusing to retract and appallingly belittling serious concern. She is a disgrace to the 4th estate which is an important wing of democracy. I.e. she has contributed to corrupting democracy. She has helped to make worse the descent to the Orwellian new-speak world we now inhabit.

As I have argued elsewhere arguments about religion (or no belief in this case) is hardly ever purely that; there is nearly always has some political motive. Maley would have some political motive to spread confusion about Dawkins which would be the flip side of why most politicians today see it "important" to claim some sort of piety or to propagate piety. I think it is related to affirming conservatism - resisting change. She must hold to deeply conservative values.

I looked up my Thesaurus and here are some words to throw at the likes of Maley undermining the 4th estate the way she has: denigration, false reporter, detractor, sower of confusion, irresponsible.
