In a interview conducted by CNN Rev. Gabriele Amorth talks about his job in the Vatican as the local Exorcist. Rev. Gabriele Amorth deals with people can be tempted and literally possessed by Satan.

This to me sound like the priests and the vatican don’t want to take responsibility for their actions. There have been over 70,000 exorcisms preformed by this one Reverent. he says “It’s not my opinion: I’m saying that if you believe in the Gospels, you believe in the existence of the devil, in the devil’s power to possess people,”. this is amidst pedophilia sweeping though the churches in Europe.

Well that certainly was a sophisticated piece of theology …

There you have it from the vatican, child molesters don’t need jail, they need repentance … he just said it on camera. That is the whole issue right there, these people think that criminal justice does not apply to them. You just saw a little window in the mind of the kind of men who protect child rapists. A man who believes in Satan, and thinks that they are in communication with God, is not the kind of man who feels that prison, and chemical castration is not the proper response for deviants who rape children.

    Right there on the tape.

    bingo.

Zwartz is outraged that Dawkins would call the pope a nazi (though he was one) yet will the outrage over the children make it to fairfax’s fair coverage of religion? Barney? Communities of care??

I don’t know of many things I find as repugnant as knowingly putting the interests of an institution’s public relations before children’s protection from molestation. Yet this is the Pope we have. This is the moral judgment he made.

How can anyone retain confidence in that figurehead? How can any orthodox Catholic not find this repugnant? And what has the Pope done since this has been revealed? He has said nothing, and put out a p.r. campaign to accuse critics in Germany of being anti-Catholic.

Yet they are flailing around chasing satan from the cloisters? It beggars the mind.

    Dawkins is so mean.

Have to agree with the other commentators. There’s a serious contradiction occurring the brains of these people. There might be an answer to find out what it is, but terrifyingly enough I’m worried we won’t find it.

It is amazing that a member of the clergy would say that “pedophiles” need to be converted to God … the correct answer is actually, that they need to be turned over to the civil authorities for criminal prosecution, and they need to be removed from the church.

This man says it right here on camera — that the solution is “penance” — and he also says that the cause of the problem is “the devil” … will Barney Zwartz run a story defending the science on pedophilia? Will he renounce the diagnosis of “demonic temptation” and endorse the medical and clinical understanding of this kind of behavior that hurts children?

Or is he more interested in finding evidence of Dawkins’ intolerance.

When faced with this kind of wanton disregard for the welfare of children — and the protection of men who clearly are not in contact with anything close to a sane understanding of the human condition — it is hard to imagine being critical enough.

    Lets see.…
These are men who are always praying to god, god is all powerful.
Some second rate ‘demon’ is more powerful then god or his holey men.
The priest really need to start praying to Zeus or Oden cuz this other god-guy ain’t got what it takes!!!!
