National Science Week is here!
15Aug. 10
National Science Week is unique because it is a national celebration of science; the joy of science, the usefulness of science, the excitement and the mystery of science. Science is so important in our lives and that’s especially true in Australia. It’s important therefore that we understand how science interacts in our lives because more and more decisions will be based on science.

i think it’s important to understand how science transcends the physical in so many areas that its just plain funny to disregard the more mental and philosophical side.
in which case ALL decisions are already made based on science.

Wow, what a science week (or month) it was this year, we do snake shows in schools and we were booked solid for the entire month of August with Science week “stuff”.
We do hands on reptiles, where we let the kids hold the animals and now the state wildlife authority, at the behest of Melbourne Zoo have demanded an end to all hands on reptiles on the basis that it stops people wanting to go to the Melbourne zoo.
In other words money and power (of the zoo bureaucrats) is making the government decisions, NOT science and rational and favourable educational outcomes.
We are fighting the attempt to stop hands on reptiles education.
All the best
